Do Quoc Trung is a young Vietnamese director. He is one of two young Vietnamese directors honored to participate in the Asian Project Market under the Union Busan Film Festival in 2015 with the work "Cha cha cha ".
Quoc Trung graduated as valedictorian, majoring in Film Directing, class 28 at the University of Cinematography. In 2013, he won the best Southeast Asian film award at the Cambodia Chatomuk 2013 short film competition with the work "Banana fish". At the award ceremony of the 48h Canon Hanoi film making contest, Quoc Trung won Best Director and Best Film Silver Cup /i>with the work "The first day of autumn". In addition, he also won the Pink Heart Cup at YxineFF 2012 with the short film "Sunday with Shu Qi", the First prize in the 2012 Life Story Contest with the short film "Going home", the Film award. best at International Short Film Festival REC Berlin, Germany 2014 with the film "Closing in and opening"....
On 3/8/2018, the organizers The Asian Project Market (APM) organization under the Busan Film Festival has officially announced 30 film projects selected from 15 countries in Asia. In which, the project of Do Quoc Trung and Tran Dung Thanh Duy is highly appreciated and will participate in presentations before international investors and producers to receive cash prizes for making films.
The project "Cha cha cha" of two young Vietnamese directors is a film about the difference between two generations of grandparents living together. The grandfather was wandering in a cemetery looking for his own grave because it was too hot and he did not want to be cremated. But the nephew found a way to buy an air conditioner. The film does not have a clear plot, but only slices through which viewers can see the loneliness and emptiness of people in modern society.
Quoc Trung said, "Cha cha cha" is a project of his heart, and it took him nearly 3 years since graduating from university to come up with ideas and perfect the script. One of the difficulties that Trung encountered when making the project file "Cha cha cha" was English. Although I can communicate in English, it is also a problem to complete the project dossier in English in the best way.
