Duong Ngoc Duc is a talented director of Vietnamese art theater. Although coming to art quite late, Duong Ngoc Duc has affirmed the bravery of a methodically trained director from a great art school of the Soviet Union. When he was sent to work at the Drama Troupe Hai Phong, he successfully staged many plays, among which, plays such as: Steel Grid, Turning the Earth, Masa, Last Afternoon, You Live Forever, Cheo Dai Hong's stature... During his time working at the Central Opera Company, he staged many outstanding plays such as: Frontline Calling, Venus Island, Dramatic Third Song, Masa, Eyes, A Legend of Love, Clams and Shells, Ten Orchid Flowers, Gun Man, Flowers and Ngan, See you again. .. For his contributions to the national stage cause, he was awarded the title of People's Artist by the state. In the evaluation for the award Ho Chi Minh in 2011, director Duong Ngoc Duc was one of the few film directors. In the last years of his career as a director, he left two plays with great success, namely the play "The Great Rose" by Hai Phong Cheo Doan. and the play "Calling the Frontline" by the Hanoi Opera Company. Director Duong Ngoc Duc also worked as the General Secretary - Secretary of the Party Union of the Vietnam Theater Artists Association from the 2nd to the 4th term, and a delegate to the National Assembly for the 7th and 8th sessions.
Dated June 3, 2010 Director Duong Ngoc Duc passed away at Hanoi Friendship Hospital. His passing brings mourning to his family and artist brothers, who have always stood by him in his stage career.

Duong Ngoc Duc is one of the first class students of the Vietnam Army School. In 1957, he was transferred to work at the Central Theater Troupe. In 1959, director Duong Ngoc Duc was sent to study in the Soviet Union at Leningrad School (now St. Petersburg). He is one of the few directors to be directed thoroughly at a major art school. He graduated from high school and returned to his home country to work at the Hai Phong Theater Troupe.
