After that, he started making many other films such as: Children, Mother Absent Home, Cactus in the Sand, Children, Nightingale in the City... Among the films he directed, there were many films. won awards at Film Festivals such as:

• The movie "Mother is not at home" made in 1976 won the Golden Lotus award at the 5th Vietnam Film Festival, 1980. Crystal vase at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, 1980.
• The movie "Full Moon" won the Silver Lotus award at the 6th Vietnam Film Festival, 1983
• The film "The Return of the Birds" won the Silver Lotus award at the 7th Vietnam Film Festival, 1985.
• The film "Children" won the Golden Lotus award and the Best Director award at the Vietnam Film Festival. 10th time.

In 1993, director Nguyen Khanh Du was awarded the noble title of People's Artist by the State in 2007, he received the State Prize for literature and art with the film Adopted Child, Children, Mother Away from home,
Director Nguyen Khanh Du passed away on December 3, 2007, in Hanoi.

At the age of 13, he joined the cadet, active in Regiment 74, Cao Bang. He used to work as a photographer and cameraman at the Information and Communication Department.
