Director Pham Van Khoa is considered a veteran director of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema. He was the first Director of the National Enterprise of Vietnam Cinema and Photography since 1953. And was the former Director of the Vietnam Feature Film Studio.
Director Pham Van Khoa started making films in 1958, with debut film "Orange Garden". This is a film about the real issues surrounding agricultural cooperatives at that time. After that, he continuously embarked on making many other films such as: After the storm, Fire in the middle, Cocoon in law, Wise .... Especially with the film "Fire in the Middle", a film based on the short story "Co Nhan" by Van Dan, received a certificate of merit from the Soviet Cinema Association at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1961. In 1973, the series This film also received the Silver Lotus award at the second Vietnam Film Festival.
Later, director Pham Van Khoa embarked on film adaptations from famous literary works of writers. -tat-to/26">Ngo Tat To, Nam Cao... Director Pham Van Khoa received the State Prize in 2007 with 3 works: Midway Fire, Village. Vu Dai that day, Sister Dau. In 1985, he received the 3rd class Independence Medal. He was conferred the noble title of People's Artist by the Vietnamese government.
On October 24, 1992, director Pham Van Khoa passed away in Hanoi.

He started participating in cultural and revolutionary activities early.
In 1937, he was active in the Association for the Propagation of Quoc Ngu, a lecturer in French and Chinese. In 1942, he was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam. After the revolution, he worked at the Chien Thang Drama Troupe and then returned to build the film industry from March 15, 1953.
At that time, he held the position of Director of the National Enterprise of Vietnam Cinema and Photography, cum Editor-in-Chief of Cinema newspaper. After that, he worked as the director of Vietnam Film Studio, Vietnam Feature Film Studio (separated from Vietnam Film Studio, now named Vietnam Feature Film Studio) from 1956 to 1959.
