Miura Toshiyal is a Japanese football player and coach. He used to be the head coach of the Vietnam national team.
Miura Toshiya has a burning passion for football. He always aspired to be a coach. Therefore, he was determined to study a coach training course in Germany. After more than 5 years of studying in Germany, he graduated with a certificate of A-class Coach. After returning home, he was invited to work as a coach for Brummel Sendai (now Vegalta Sendai) club. lead this team to compete in the Thien Hoang Cup. In 1998, he became a professional coach when he joined Mito Hollyhock Club. He then became the deputy coach of Omiya Ardija Club in 1999. Until 2000, he became the head coach of this team. In the 2000 season, Omiya Ardija only took 4th place. In 2001, he recruited players Jorge Luis Dely Valdes, a Panama international, Baré (Jader Volnei Spindler) and Ando Masahiro, a former Japan international. . With the invitation of these two players with great achievements, Miura Toshiya confidently declared this to be the strongest squad he has ever led. However, at the end of the 2001 season, the Omiya Ardija team was only in 5th place when they won 17 wins, 2 defeats and 1 draw. At the end of the season, he announced his resignation as the coach of this team.
On May 8, 2014, coach Miura officially became the head coach of the football team. Vietnam and is also the head coach of the Vietnamese Olympic team in the Olympic qualifying round of Rio de Janeiro. In September 2014, Miura and the students of Vietnam U23 team reached the 1/8 round at ASIAD 17 in Korea. At the 2014 AFF Cup, Miura led the students to the semi-finals. However, the Vietnamese team had to stop playing when they lost to the Malaysian team. At the 28th SEA Games, under the guidance of coach Miura, the Vietnam U23 team won a bronze medal. He is also the one who directs the Vietnamese team in the friendly match between Vietnam and Manchester City club at the end of July 2015. As a result of the match, Vietnam lost to Manchester City club with a score of 1-8. In 2016, coach Miura led the U23 Vietnam team to the final round of the Asian U23 Championship, held in Qatar. In the final round, the Vietnamese team lost 3 consecutive matches to Jordan, Australia and UAE. On the other hand, the coach and the students were also criticized by Vietnamese fans for their gameplay. On January 28, 2016, the Vietnam Football Federation issued a decision to dismiss coach Miura. Although the contract was terminated two months ago, Miura did not receive any compensation fees from the Vietnamese football federation.
