When he was 11 years old, he was selected for the PTF Ha Tinh gifted team, then joined the Song Lam Nghe An training facility - a place known as the "cradle of Vietnamese football". It is here that Long Vu's talent is nurtured and developed methodically.

In the colors of SLNA youth teams, Long Vu quickly showed impressive performance. He was an important factor in helping the Nghe An team win many titles in the national U13, U15 and U17 tournaments.
