On December 16, 2010 Professor Tran Van Giau passed away at Thong Nhat Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City. He lived to be 100 years old.
Due to growing up in a family of landowners with conditions. At the age of 15, he went to Saigon to study at the famous Chasseloup Laubat School. After graduating from the baccalaureate, he went to France to study at the University of Toulouse.
When coming here, on the one hand, he actively participated in learning, on the other hand, he also participated in many workers' movement activities and the struggle movement of Vietnamese students and workers in Toulouse city. After that, he was deported back to the country for participating in demonstrations in front of the French Presidential Palace demanding the abolition of the death penalty for the leaders of the Uprising Yen Bai.
Returning to his home country, he taught at a school in Saigon, then he was admitted to the Communist Party Indochina.
After the climax of Xo Viet Nghe Tinh, in mid-1931, he was organized to send him to the Soviet Union to study at Moscow Oriental University.
After When he returned home, he actively participated in revolutionary activities and was imprisoned many times.
