La Lam is the beauty crowned the contest Miss Transgender Vietnam 2016. In addition, she also won the Talent Star award in the Vietnam Transgender Star 2016 contest, the Friendly Beauty award in the Vietnam Elegant Miss 2016 contest i>. She is currently a student at the Faculty of Screenwriting and Film, Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema.
La Lam's real name is Lo Duc Tho, a man's name that she doesn't like at all because deep down in her soul is a girl. She also wants to be called La Lam by everyone. From a young age, when she was only 5-6 years old, because her family was very poor, her father was often given old clothes and brought back to his children to use. But, the things her father brought back were girls' things. And when she wore a dress for the first time, she still remembers that feeling, she felt very happy.
When growing up, La Lam rarely played the games that boys often play. Instead, she likes to play jumping rope with her girlfriends. In 6th grade, Lam began to realize his difference from his peers of the same sex. She is also often teased by her friends for being "crazy" but she doesn't mind much. It seems that she accepted and was always carefree after the laughter of her friends.
When she went to Hanoi to attend school, La Lam began to make acquaintances with many people in the LGBT community. Since then, she feels she is more comfortable, can freely live true to her gender. Then she also began to have relationships during her student days, but the love story has no future. Those who come to Lam leave her to marry another child they do not love to be their wife. The wounds from the love story have scratched Lam's soul.
She feels happy when participating in the fashion show. It was also her first time wearing a wedding dress. That makes her even more yearning to lie on the transgender surgery table to be herself. She started studying to have a stable life later and save money to perform gender reassignment surgery. And she managed to do it. Not only that, La Lam also affirmed her beauty and talent in the beauty arena.
