- From 1957 to 1968, he worked as an officer of the Phu Tho Culture Department, Vinh Phu, then as an editor of the Van Nghe Newspaper, the Vietnam Writers' Association until his retirement in 1993.
- Since retirement, he has moved to live in the countryside.
