An American writer and attorney, he is known for his 2011 novel, The Book of Wants. Each of the ten chapters of the book is inspired by one of the Ten Commandments. He also published several collections of short stories, including Assumption and Other Stories (2003) and The Devil Talk:. Stories (2004)
He published the picture book for bilingual children, Benjamin and the Word / Benjamin y la palabra, in 2005.
