Thomas has written four seasons of novels as well as many short stories and works for the stage. He is known for his unique writing style that blends prose and autobiography. His works are poetic, and historical. Thomas' books began to be published from 1920 until the 1940s. In his works Thomas often reflected on the culture and customs of America at that time. Thomas is considered an influential writer in American literature and a master of the autobiographical novel. He is also considered the most famous writer in North Carolina.
On September 15, 1938, novelist Thomas Wolfe died in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. He was previously diagnosed with a brain disease. On September 0 he was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment. He was operated by the most famous specialists in the country, including doctors, Dr. Walter Dandy . But because his illness was too severe, he could not survive.
