Who is National football team Uruguay?
The Uruguay national football team, known in Spanish as Selección de fútbol de Uruguay, is a national football team of Uruguay, controlled by the Uruguayan Football Association. The Uruguayan team currently represents this country on the world stage. This is a team rich in tradition and has quite a good record in men's football in the top of South America next to Argentina and Brazil. Uruguay is a team that has won the South American championship 15 times. This is also the team that won the Pan American Games once in 1983. This team won the World Football Championship twice - the FIFA World Cup in 1930 and 1950, and won the World Championship twice. 1924 and 1928 Olympic Games. The current head coach of the Uruguay national football team is Mr. Diego Alonso, whose captaincy is Diego Godín.
Prior to 1916, Uruguay played a total of 30 matches. There are 29 matches against Argentina. In 1929, the Argentina team traveled to Paris, France and became the first South American team to participate in the Olympics. In contrast to their European rivals at the time, Uruguay had a short-ball style of play that helped them win all of their matches, helping them beat Switzerland for the gold medal. In 1930, Uruguay was chosen as the host country of the World Cup after winning a gold medal at the 1928 Olympics. Despite winning the title of this tournament, the Uruguayan team was not satisfied with only 4 European teams. He attended and thought he was despised by the Europeans. Then they erased the World Cup in two periods, 1934 and 1938. In the 1950 World Cup, Uruguay won the championship after defeating Brazil. That created an earthquake for the home country's fans.
