Vu Manh Dung is an Opera artist, deputy leader of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet troupe, and a lecturer at the Department of Vocal Music at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and the Military University of Culture and Arts.
Nghe Manh Dung graduated from the Central College of Music Education in 2000. graduated with a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from the Vietnam National Academy of Music. He graduated with a Master's degree in Opera Performance from Vietnam National Academy of Music in 2009. He sings with a bariton voice - one of the number 1 opera vocalists in Vietnam today.
In his artistic career, Vu Manh Dung has achieved many achievements such as: Gold medal for the song "You are the sure-win" by musician Chu Minh, National Education Fair 2004; Second prize in singing contest "National Opera House 2009"; Gold Medal at the National Professional Arts Festival 2015 for her role as Anh Ha in the musical "Co Sao" by music Doctor Do Nhuann; Gold Cup “Festival Spring April 2016” in Pyongyang – North Korea...
He played the character Papageno in the critically acclaimed VA Mozart's opera "The Magic flute" last month. September 2006 and September 2007. In addition, artist Manh Dung also played the main roles such as: Don Alfonso in the play "Cosi fan tutte" VA Mozart; the role of Porgy in Gershwin's Porgy and Bess; the role of Father's Hung in the musical "The Dream and Realthy" Gustav and Tran Manh Hung premiered in May 2009... He used to sing solo in the plays Oratorio such as: "Thousand years of remembering that time. ” by Dinh Quang Hop; "Relocation of the Capital" by Composer Doan Nho; “Color is not zero” by Do Dung; Symphony "Country" by Dang Huu Phuc; LV Beethoven's 9th Symphony… In 2019, he was honored with the title of Distinguished Artist.
On February 18, 2020, Hoan Kiem District (Hanoi) police released an announcement news that artist Vu Manh Dung was murdered by his own wife at his home. The suspect is Duong Quang Binh, brother of artist Manh Dung's wife, after burning his motorbike, took a knife to his sister's house to threaten the family of 6. The suspect stabbed to death his brother-in-law, artist Manh Dung.
