Who is Painter Duong Huong Minh?
Painter Duong Huong Minh was born Nguyen Van Tiep, born in Hung Yen province. He is one of the founding members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, and is a pioneer in the construction of military fine arts.
Lacquer painting "Pull cannon at Dien Bien Phu in 1957" with size 100x200, is A masterpiece of social realism. In 1958, this work was selected to participate in the National Fine Arts Exhibition and received a great prize. In 1959, he was selected to participate in the Exhibition of Fine Arts of the Socialist Republics in Moscow and many other countries. In 1960 and 1961, this work was exhibited in 8 Eastern European countries, respectively. It can be said that this is a highly appreciated lacquer work of Vietnamese painting from 1954 - 1964.
Painter Duong Huong Minh also has many paintings on the topic of revolutionary war such as Insert Cannon (1960), Truong Son (1980), Giap Battle (1990)... and dozens of unique portrait sketches of leaders, generals and famous artists and writers.
In 2001, his lacquer work "Even if we have to burn the Truong Son Mountains, we must gain independence" was presented to General Vo Nguyen Giap on the occasion of the General's 90th birthday.
He was honored to be awarded the State Prize for Literature and Art.

In 1938, Duong Huong Minh followed the family name of the Faculty of Painting at the Indochina Fine Arts School.
During the war against the French, he fought as a soldier on the battlefield of the Saigon - Gia Dinh Special Zone.
In December 1954, he gathered to the North to fight with his pen in the People's Army newspaper, Nhan Dan.
In 1955, he was sent to Hanoi by the General Department of Politics of the People's Army from the special forces unit, and he participated in the organization of an army exhibition.
From 1956-1959, respectively, he worked at the newspaper "People's Army", the Army Art Department and the Army Museum.
