Nguyen Sy Ngoc is a Vietnamese painter. He is famous for many lacquer paintings on the topic of Vietnamese soldiers, about the military and people's love or the production scene of the Vietnamese people. The paintings of artist Nguyen Sy Ngoc have vivid lines and colors, liberal but extremely powerful. Not only painting, Nguyen Sy Ngoc also writes articles on the topic of Fine Arts for Van Nghe newspaper. He is a student of class 8 of the School of Fine Arts Indochina. In 1957, he was one of the first painters admitted to the painting industry of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.
During the years of resistance, Nguyen Sy Ngoc enthusiastically participated in the networks. He was a member of the Cultural Association for National Salvation from the very beginning. He worked in the Resistance Theater Troupe and at the painting studio in Intersection IV. From 1950-1954 he worked as a lecturer at the Vietnam School of Fine Arts in Viet Bac. From 1955-1965, he worked as a lecturer at Hanoi University of Fine Arts. From 1965-1973 he was a member of the composition team of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association. From 1973-1975 he was a painter of Van Nghe newspaper. From 1957-1983 he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, term I. From 1957-1958 he held the position of Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.
