Who is Painter Nguyen Trong Doan?
Nguyen Trong Doan is a painter who specializes in creating and researching ceramics. He is the author of paintings on pottery, the first ceramic sculptor to be awarded the State Prize. He has been a member of the decoration industry of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association since 1991. He was one of the first people to participate in the construction of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. His typical works are: Garden lamp (crockery material, 82cm high); Earth love (crockery material, height 32cm, length 40cm); Happiness (crockery material, height 52cm); Blue bird (crockery material, 40cm high, 55cm wide).
Nguyen Trong Doan has been learning pottery since he was a student at the School of Fine Arts. After that, he went directly to the villages to learn about ancient cultural relics. After each trip he learned a lot of folk art, which helped his later writing career. After 19 years of researching and researching about folk art, Nguyen Trong Doan decided to borrow money to build a ceramic kiln and produce the first ceramic works. In 1990, Nguyen Trong Doan began to attract attention through an exhibition with the artist Nguyen Tu Nghiem. In 1996, he made a splash through his first solo exhibition in 1996. In this exhibition, more than 100 ceramic works and ceramic sculptures by Nguyen Trong Doan were introduced to the public. There are many works bought by many collectors and many works have been ordered as art ceramic items applied to life, such as lampstands, reliefs, engravings. It can be said that painter Nguyen Trong Doan has created a novelty in the images and colors of ceramics.

Study and work history:
From 1959-1963, studied and graduated at Hanoi School of Industrial Fine Arts.
From 1981-1982 was an Art Restoration Trainee in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
From 1963-1965, worked at the Institute of Fine Arts and Fine Arts, Ministry of Culture.
From 1965-1968, participated in the revolution, worked in the anti-aircraft artillery team protecting Ham Bridge. Dragon.
From 1968-1970, was the ground artillery unit of Khe Sanh front - Quang Tri.
From 1970-1971, he was a member of the Political Department of Artillery Command (F351).
From 1971-1990, he worked at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts.
From 1999-2004, held the position of Vice Chairman of the Council of Decorative Arts, course V.
From 2004-2009, he was a member of the Central Art Council of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, term VI.
