- He graduated from the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University in 1970, and attended the School of Fostering Young Writers for the South.
- Until April 1971, he entered the southern battlefield, worked in the Department of Propaganda and Training - Central Department of the South.
- In 1975, he moved back to work as an editor and critic of the Liberation Literature Newspaper. Teaching literary theory at the University of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh.
- Since 1982, he moved to the Saigon Liberation newspaper, holding the positions of: Secretary of the Editorial Board, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Editor-in-Chief until retirement.
- He is also Vice Chairman of the City Journalists Association. Ho Chi Minh City term V (2003 - 2008).
