Poet Po Sao Min (or Po Seo Cao) was born in Tung Chung Pho commune, Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province. He is the son of the Pa Di people, one of the most famous ethnic minority poets in the Vietnamese poetry village.
He also has other pseudonyms: Bach Minh, Thieu Minh, Pao Li.

Due to his family's situation of not being able to go to school, he went from an illiterate teenager and from a horseman to the Muong Khuong district agency after the resistance war against the French colonialists and bandits in the border area, Po Sao Min was work, study and graduate from secondary school.
In 1970, Po Sao Min was one of the first ethnic minority youths of Lao Cai province to be selected to study metallurgical mechanics in Czechoslovakia.
