As a child, So-Jin attended Lee Hyun Elementary School then grew up she attended Seojin Middle School and Kyungduk Girls' High School. After graduating from high school, she passed the entrance exam to Yeungnam University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
Before becoming a member of the girl group Girls day, she was a vocal instructor for the boy band Ulala Session. On July 7, 2010, she officially debuted in the entertainment industry as a member of the girl group Girls day on KBS Music Bank through the song "Tit my head" performed by her. On January 9, 2011, after more than a year of debut, she released her first single "Our Love Like This" - the song was used as the soundtrack of the movie Flames of Desire. On April 19, 2012, she and the girl group Girls day released the album "Everyday II" which contained the song "Telepathy" which she composed herself. In the same year, she collaborated with a composer to write the song "It's snowing" for the group Tokio Girl, which was released on December 7th.
In 2013, she was with the group. Girls day continues to release a new album which contains the songs "Girl's Day World", "Let's Go", "I Don't Mind" which she herself composed and wrote the lyrics for.
At the end of January 2015, she took over the voice of the movie "Dizzy Dizzy" part 2 which was shown on the weekend show The Family Is Coming (Family Outing) OST.
