Born Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and better known as Salman of Saudi Arabia, this king began his reign in January 2015. Before that, he served for nearly a decade as Deputy Governor and Governor of the Riyadh region of Saudi Arabia.
In 2012, at the death of his brother Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Sauddeath of Salman became Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
