Sculptor and painter known for his Three Rivers fountain in Victoria Square, Adelaide.
He has created over fifty public sculptures, including an Adelaide Airport memorial to Sir Ross Smith and busts of Mark Oliphant and Mellis Napier.

He studied architecture and painting at the University of Adelaide and worked during World War II as an assistant to Australian war sculpture Lyndon Dadswell and one of the Tobruk rats.
He died of a stroke while in a nursing home in Adelaide. His niece Penny Dowie became a painter.
