Who is Singer Eric Mun?
Eric Mun, born Mun Jung-Hyuk, is a famous South Korean actor and singer. He became famous and loved by the public as a member and leader of the Korean boy band Shinhwa, which is famous throughout Asia. In his acting career, Eric Mun is also loved by the audience through his roles in movies such as: Super Rookie, Discovery of love, Phoenix, Oh Hae-young again...
Born in Korea but when Eric Mun was in middle school, his family moved to the US to live. Until 1996, he decided to return to Korea to start a career in the entertainment industry. He joined SM Entertainment as a trainee, then debuted as a rapper. On March 24, 1998, Eric and the members of Shinhwa officially debuted with the single "The Solver" on KM Music Tank. Eric is the school group and also the main rapper of Shinhwa. In 2002, Eric and the members of Shinhwa were guests in the movie "Emergency 19 Act", but it was not until 2003 that Eric really entered his acting career. In early 2004, with the participation in the movie "Phoenix", the most popular TV series at that time in Korea, created a big turning point in Eric's acting career. From his role in "Phoenix", Eric quickly attracted a large number of fans and became a bright star of the Korean entertainment industry.
In 2005, he continued to cause fever with the male lead role. in MBC's drama "Super Rookie" with female actor Han Ga-in. This series was widely promoted on Fuji TV and received critical acclaim during its promotion. But more surprisingly, "Super Rookie" became a blockbuster in Japan when Fuji Television paid 2 billion won to be broadcast in Japan. In early 2006, Eric was injured while filming a scene of the MBC drama "Wolf". In March 2008, Shinhwa had a concert to celebrate their 10th anniversary, but then this group started to go on hiatus because the members were doing their mandatory military service. Before joining the military, Eric participated in the first historical drama called "Strongest Chil Woo". With a salary of 30 million won per episode, Eric became the highest-paid actor and singer in the entertainment industry at that time. On October 30, 2010, Eric completed his mandatory military service and was discharged. He starred in the KBS drama "Poseidon" with actor Kim Ok-bin, which premiered in July 2011.
In 2016, Eric appeared in the drama "It's you Oh Hae again. -young" of cable channel TVN, with actor Seo Hyun-jin. This drama has stormed the Asian entertainment market during its 2 months of broadcasting and has become TvN's highest rated drama to be broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays.
