Who is Band Shinhwa?
Shinhwa is the number 1 legendary K-pop group, the oldest idol group in Korean music history with 18 years of operation without a single member change. During the operation, Shinhwa maintained the model of 3 members singing, 3 members Rap in the style of Pop, Hiphop. Shinhwa together with H. O.T, Turbo, G. O.D... created the first golden generation of the Kpop wave. Shinhwa did a miracle that many first generation groups failed to do, which was to overcome the "five-year curse". Groups of the same era as Shinhwa, no matter how successful, were disbanded after 3-5 years of operation. Shinhwa's fandom named "Shinhwa Changjo" which means "creating a legend" became the oldest fanclub in Kpop, growing in number of fans, covering all of Asia.
Since 1996, members Shin Hyesung, Eric Mun, Andy Lee, Lee Minwoo, Junjin, Kim Dongwan in turn was discovered and trained to join the group.
On March 24, 1998, Shinhwa made his first appearance with the song "Resolver". Unfortunately, the world financial crisis made Shinhwa's debut not as successful as expected. Shinhwa's 2nd single was criticized for copying the national song "Candy" by H. O.T.
In 1999, Shinhwa's 2nd album "T. O.P" with the title song of the same name became a huge hit, causing fever throughout Korea. "T. O.P" topped music charts, helping Shinhwa overcome the shadow of senior H. O.T. Since then, every song of Shinhwa has become a hit, and fans have memorized each song of the group. The group's name became one of the top Kpop stars.
In 2001, waves hit Shinhwa again. Member Andy did not participate in the 4th album because his mother was seriously ill and the economy was difficult. The remaining 5 members are determined to win at Guerilla Concert as a gift for Andy. Andy finally returned, the group released the 5th album with all 6 members.
5 years with SM, Shinhwa was very successful but could not win the Daesang (the highest award of the year). ). Leaving SM for Good, Shinhwa immediately won this noble award.
In 2002, Shinhwa entered Korean music history, is the oldest active group, the 2nd Korean artist to release 2 albums in a year.
In 2004, Shinhwa became a group It was the first time in history that the members all pursued solo careers but still maintained group activities.
In 2008, Shinhwa members enlisted in the army, and group activities had to be suspended. The 9th album "Shinhwa 9th" celebrates the group's 10 years of singing, and is also a farewell album for fans.
In July 2011, Shinhwa became the first Kpop group to own their own company "Shinhwa Company".
In March 2012, Shinhwa wrote a new history page for Kpop when returning after 4 years with 10th album "The Return". Shinhwa took a 4-year break to wait for the 6 members to complete their military service because they don't want to work without anyone. Leader Eric doesn't like people using the word "reunited" because the group has never disbanded.
March 24-25, 2012, Shinhwa celebrated their 14th anniversary with a grand concert at Olympic Gymnastics Arena.
