LEON's real name is Ta Hoang Long, born in 2003. He is a talented young singer known to many audiences when he participated in the survival reality TV show Almighty Rookie and is the 7th piece of the Vietnamese boy band UPRIZE, marking a remarkable transformation from a social network face to a well-trained idol.
Before stepping onto the stage of Almighty Rookie, Long Hoang was not a completely unfamiliar name to young audiences. He was once known in the online community through the young group Hot Muviker, at the same time as many famous faces on social networks such as Long Bi, Chi Bé or Linh Ka. The popularity that came quite early gave Long Hoang the opportunity to come into contact with the entertainment field, but at the same time caused him to receive a lot of attention and mixed opinions from the public.
Not stopping at activities on social networks, Long Hoang once showed his ambition to pursue the path of becoming a professional artist. In 2019, he attracted attention when information appeared related to SM Entertainment, one of Korea's leading entertainment companies. Long Hoang once went to Seoul to participate in Summer Audition Camp organized by SM Entertainment. This is considered a memorable milestone in his exposure to the professional idol training environment. Those experiences became the foundation for Long Hoang to continue pursuing art. He once tried his hand at acting and appeared in the TV series Small Path to Life. However, music and especially the path to becoming an idol is still the direction that Long Hoang pays a lot of attention to.
The big turning point in his career came when he participated in Almighty Rookie, a survival reality television program built to find and train young faces for a boy band Vietnam. Long Hoang came to the program in a rather special situation. After contestant Pham Van Tam withdrew due to personal reasons, Ta Hoang Long was chosen to replace and participate in the competition journey on the show. Entering the game at a not too early time puts Long Hoang under great pressure, because he must quickly adapt to the training environment, compete with other trainees and prove his own abilities.
However, his experience working in public as well as his musical background help Long Hoang have certain advantages. In the show, he was noticed for his vocal ability and voice color that fit the direction of a boy band. Besides professional factors, the process of participating in All-round Rookie also shows Long Hoang's clear change as he gradually perfects his performance skills and works in a team environment.
The journey on the show is not only a competition to win a debut position but also the process of Long Hoang proving his maturity. From a once famous face on social networks, he has to face the stricter standards of the idol industry, where singing, dancing, stage performance, working attitude and ability to coordinate with teammates are all given top priority.
After a journey of competition and training, Long Hoang officially won the debut spot with 6 other members. He chose the stage name LEON and became one of the 7 members of UPRIZE. The group lineup includes BEX, PN, LAVM, O. D, Wonbi, DYLAN and LEON, marking an important milestone in Long Hoang's career.
