Vu Cat Tuong grew up in Long Xuyen city, Anh Giang. After studying at the International University of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, she graduated with honors from the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Having been a music lover since childhood, in 2012 she attracted attention at an event when she sang the song "East" which she composed herself.
