Nguyen Hien helped King Thai Tong give good ideas to the people, built dykes to prevent floods in the Red River, opened more dojos to train the army, developed more production for the people, national defense must be strengthened, he was assigned by the king to have a diplomatic mission with the Chinese emissary and conferred on him the post of Eastern great maester.
