He graduated from St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1904. He designed the residence of V. P. Kochubei in Tsarskoye Selo in 1911 and the house of S. A. Scherbatov in Novinski Boulevard.
His father was a banker in Yekaterinodar. He married Camilla Edwards and their two sons, Gevorg and Yulius, also became architects.
