Best known as a founder of the Scottish pop-rock band Danny Wilson and as bassist of the rock group Simple Minds, he also composed soundtracks for such films and video games, respectively, The Fast and the Furious and Shrek the Third.
He and his bandmate Danny Wilson are very famous for their Uk Top 5 single "Prayer of Mary" (1988), which was featured in the soundtrack of the popular film A Few Things about Mary.
