Authorities investigated, and almost sentenced Sugar Ray Robinson to manslaughter. When he learned that Jimmy Doyle wanted to spend his winnings on buying a house for his mother. Sugar Ray Robinson spent all of the next 4 matches to send to his mother Jimmy Doyle.
In 1989, Sugar Ray Robinson died of illness.
