Peugeot is a French car manufacturer, a subsidiary of Groupe PSA. Peugeot's predecessor was a family-owned business founded in 1810, specializing in the manufacture of bicycles and coffee grinders. In 1858, Émile Peugeot applied for a trademark, and later built his first car, a steam-powered three-wheeler that had not yet met safety standards. He and Léon Serpollet then teamed up and launched a car with an internal combustion engine in 1890. In 1896, Armand Peugeot founded the Société des Automobiles Peugeot.
Peugeot has been successful in motorsport for over a century. Peugeot Sport has won and won the World Rally Championship 5 times in 1985, 1986, 2000, 2001, 2002, Dakar Rally 7 times in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 2016, 2017, 2018,24 Hours of Le Mans three times in 1992, 1993, 2009, World Championship twice in 1992 and 1993), Intercontinental Championship twice in 2010 and 2011, overtaking Toyota and Audi and World Championship twice. 3-time Intercontinental Racing Champion.
