Legendary radio broadcaster and record collector known for his sense of humor and for playing novel songs and recording strange and unusual recordings. He created the persona Dr. Demento in 1970 after a rescue DJ at the Los Angeles station KPPC-FM called him "crazy".
He has been honored with a place in the Comedy Music Hall of Fame and the National Radio Hall of Fame.
