Comedian, writer, poet, and person who, along with Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe, and Michael Bentine, popularized The Goon Show, an innovative radio comedy program. He was also a prolific writer who wrote several books including seven volumes of autobiographical accounts of his time serving in the Second World War.
He provided a voice for the ITV animated series, Wolves, Wizards and Children's Giants, from 1995 to 1998.
