Who is Vietnam War Hero Nguyen Thanh Tra?
Nguyen Thanh Tra was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1935. In April 1936, Nguyen Thanh Tra was elected to the Provincial Party Committee to work in Soc Sai district. In 1939, he was arrested and imprisoned in Saigon. Nguyen Thanh Tra tried to escape from prison, in 1944, he escaped and continued to communicate with the Party. In 1945, he was kept as a Provincial Party Committee member and held the position of member of the Ben Tre Provincial Uprising Committee.
August 1945, he held the position of Deputy Provincial Police Department Ben Tre and arrested many notorious reactionaries. and together with the unit opened a trial to try the reactionaries to create prestige for the revolution. He directed the soldiers to open wars against the enemy's army to sweep the people.
In 1952, he was informed by one of the enemy, so he was arrested by them, but before was arrested, he promptly destroyed all related documents. The enemy army tried everything to get him to confess, but Nguyen Thanh Tra still maintained his determination not to give up. While in prison, once, he used a piece of bottle to cut his stomach, drew blood and wrote on the wall: "In the year Nham Nhan had Tra died in Ben Tre, wish the soldiers and compatriots good health. Long live President Ho. Long live the independence of Vietnam!" When the enemy saw this, he immediately sent him to bandage his wounds and tried every way to convince him, but they all failed. When he saw that the guards were not careful, Thanh Tra took off the bandages, eviscerated his intestines, and heroically sacrificed himself.
On August 3, 1995, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tra was tracked down by the Party and State. awarded the title Hero of the People's Armed Forces.
