Billy Hoang Phong was born in Thai Binh but since the age of 10 he has moved with his parents to live and study in Hanoi. Before becoming a musician, singer he used to be an athlete in Vovinam - a traditional martial art of the People's Public Security unit, and was a national grandmaster with 1 gold and 2 silver medals at national tournaments. From 2010 to 2012, he was a soldier in the People's Army and participated in the program We are Soldiers, Happy Lunch or many programs of students.
However, Hoang Phong is still passionate and loves singing. In 2018, he participated and passed the casting round of Sing My Song 2018 in Hanoi with a self-composed song with a contemporary folk sound combined with modern music. Hoang Phong's performance was enthusiastically advised and instructed by the Hoang Sa judge. Since then, he has had a new turning point in his music career. He began to release many songs of his own composition of different genres. With his talent and efforts, he has proven his ability when there are many famous singers working with him such as: Loving Wife and Children (Chu Bin performed), Love you till the end of my life (Bui Vinh Phuc performed), Diary of the day without you (played by Hoang Bao Phong), Come on girl (Cao Thai Son), You of today, Spring is everywhere, and many songs written and performed by him.
