Who is Composer Pham Trong Cau?
Composer Pham Trong Cau is the author of many famous songs, such as Cho con, Autumn will not return, My village school. Before 1975, he often used the pseudonym Pham Trong to compose. After 1975, he returned to work at the Ho Chi Minh City Arts and Culture Association, and was a member of the City Music Association.
His first song titled "My village school" was composed around 1948. This song, after being broadcast on radio, has been warmly received by the public. In the early 1960s, while studying at the Paris Conservatory, musician Pham Trong Cau composed the song "Autumn does not return". Works such as: Cho Con, Bamboo Bridge, I Will Always Remember a Day... Since 1976, musician Pham Trong Cau and other musicians Trinh Cong Son, Tran Long An, Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Truong Thin,... established a group to introduce new compositions at the Association of Patriotic Intellectuals, the first organized music introduction group in the city Ho Chi Minh after 1975.
Composer Pham Trong Cau died on May 26, 1998 in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 1946-1948, Pham Trong Cau joined the Vung Liem Volunteer Propaganda Team, now Vinh Long Province. In 1953, Pham Trong Cau entered the Saigon National School of Music and Drama. After graduating, in 1962, he went to France to enter the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris (Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris). In 1969, Pham Trong Cau returned home, taught at the Saigon National School of Music and Drama, participated in the arts of the Saigon Students' Union.
The father of musician Pham Trong Cau is geodesy monk Pham Van Lang and Mrs. Dao Thi Ngoc Thu. Originally from Hanoi, he went to work in Cambodia and Pham Trong Cau was born in Cambodia. In 1943, Pham Trong Cau's family returned to Saigon. There, his mother opened a music restaurant called Aristo.
