Who is Composer Tram Tu Thieng?
Musician Tram Tu Thieng was the author of many love songs in southern Vietnam before 1975. His real name is Nguyen Van Loi, born in the land Quang Nam.
When he first started composing, musician Tram Tu Thieng often wrote about the topic of soldiers in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. Typical songs of the early period such as: "The military arena echoes the call", "Night of the march", "Rain on the poncho". In 1968, Truong Tien Bridge on the Perfume River collapsed, Tram Tu Thieng wrote the article "The story of a broken bridge" to record this event. In 1970, he wrote "Ton Nu is still sad" about the storm that devastated the South. In addition, he also participated in the movement of Vietnamese folk songs.
After many times crossing the border to foreign countries as refugees but being imprisoned, musician Tram Tu Thieng finally came to the United States. He settled in Little Saigon, California, USA. Here, he served as an advisor to the executive board of the Vietnam Overseas Journalists Association from 1996-2000.
At the end of 1999, he and his friends created the Vietnam Library in Little Saigon. In addition, he also collaborates with Cloud Productions, Hollywood Night and Asia center. Composer Tram Tu Thieng together with young musician Truc Ho composed many songs suitable for bronze music genre. songs like "Vietnam's Footsteps, Vietnam's Nostalgia, One Day in Vietnam, First Love in the White Shirt Era, Thank You, See You in 2000....".

On January 25, 2000, musician Tram Tu Thieng died at Anaheim West Medical Center. In the program "Paris By Night" in memory of him organized by the music center Thuy Nga, Khanh Ly sang the song "May Ha" with his voice recorded before.
In 2007, Asia Center published the book Vietnam's Footsteps to honor musician Tram Tu Thieng and musician Truc Ho.

From the age of 10 he started singing locally. After that, he went to Saigon to continue his studies and participate in music activities in schools and youth organizations.
In 1958 Tram Tu Thieng graduated from the Pedagogical School and started teaching.
