Then, he attended university and graduated from Hanoi Pedagogical University I. After graduating career, he was assigned to teach literature at a school. But because of his passion for filmmaking, Nguyen Huu Phan applied to work at the film studio. Initially, he worked as a secretary for famous directors such as Pham Van Khoa, Tran Vu, Bac Xuyen, Nguyen Ngoc Chung.
In 1979, the University of Theater and Cinema was established, and Nguyen Huu Part was on the list of students of the first class of the school.

Nguyen Huu Part is the youngest child of the family. His father passed away when he was only 20 days old. Therefore, his childhood was filled with hard days and continuous evacuation from Hanoi to Hung Yen, Hung Yen to Hanoi.
