Who is Historians Richard Hofstadter?
Renowned American historian, author and public intellectual of the mid-twentieth century. His notable works include The Paranoid Style in American Politics, The Age of Reformation, and Anti-Intellectuals in American Life. He won the Pulitzer Prize twice. first, in 1956, for a book on the populist movements of the 1890s, and again in 1964 for a work on the subject of American intellectuals.

He was a member of the Young Communist League in his early twenties. He attended the University of Buffalo, where he studied history and philosophy.
His marriage to his first wife, Felice Swados, lasted until her death in 1945. He later married Beatrice Kevitt.
