Who is Illustrator Paul O Zelinsky?
Best known for The Wheels on the Bus (published 1990) and Rapunzel (1997), this children's writer popularized and received the Caldecott Medal for the latter's work. He also illustrated children's books by Emily Jenkins, Jack Prelutsky, E. Nesbit, and other authors.
He became known for his artistic service to specific materials being illustrated.

While a student at Yale University, he took children's book art classes taught by Maurice Sendak. After completing further studies at Temple University's Stella Elkins Tyler School of the Arts, he illustrated his first children's book, Emily Upham's Revenge (Avi), in 1978.
A native of Illinois, he spent his youth in the towns of Evanston, Wilmette, and Winnetka and graduated from New Trier High School.
