Lawyer Dinh is also known as a writer who writes news articles in domestic and foreign press. In commentaries, lawyer Le Cong Dinh expressed his support for the ideology of parliamentary democracy, multi-party, pluralism, reforming the legal and political system of Vietnam. These views are assessed by the Vietnamese government as going against the current official position of the Vietnamese State.
Le Cong Dinh was arrested by the Vietnamese police on June 13, 2009. According to articles 79 and 88 of the current Penal Code of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the above acts are in the group of crimes of infringing on national security specified in Chapter XI, Penal Code of the Republic of Vietnam.
