Van Cong Hung was born in 1958 in Thanh Hoa, originally from Dien Hoa commune, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien - Hue province. From a young age, he showed his love for literature and decided to study at the Faculty of Literature - Hue University.
After graduating, in 1981, he volunteered to work in the Central Highlands - specifically Gia Lai province. This place became an endless source of inspiration for his poetry. During more than 40 years of working together, he considered Pleiku as his second homeland - the place where his rustic, sincere and thoughtful poetry was nurtured.
Currently, Van Cong Hung is a member of the Vietnam Writers Association, Vietnam Journalists Association, Vietnam Folk Arts Association, and served as Vice President of Gia Lai Literature and Arts Association and Editor-in-Chief of Gia Lai Arts Magazine.
