Mike Hailwood's father was also a racer from the pre-World War II era. Later, Mr. Stanley opened a large motorcycle dealership in the UK. At the age of 16, Mike Hailwood dropped out of school and became an assembler at the Triumph motor factory in West Midlands County. Hailwood's father bought him the best motorcycles of the time. Once established, Mike Hailwood returned the full value of the cars his father bought for him.

Family life info

Mike Hailwood married model Pauline Barbara Nash on June 11, 1975. They have two children; daughter Michelle was born in 1971 and son David. Mike Hailwood left a lot of grief when he died in 1981 at the age of 41. Hailwood's car collided with a truck as he and his two children were returning home. The crash killed Mike Hailwood and his 9-year-old daughter Michelle.
