Painter Le Pho is considered a master of post-impressionist art in Vietnam and around the world with many expensive works. He is also known by many as "Vietnamese painter in France".

The first period from 1934 to 1945
This period, painter Le Pho composed mainly mainly on silk paintings with classical style mixed with Chinese style. He uses bold, cold and pure colors. Painter Le Pho's childhood was unhappy, she lost her mother at the age of 3 and her father at the age of 8. After that, he and his brother and sister-in-law were always responsible for the actions of their grandchildren.
In 1925, painter Le Pho was admitted to the 1st course of the University of Fine Arts Indochina. He is one of 10 Vietnamese students who were classified by Professor Victor Tardieu in the group of 10 "elite" students of the course and at the same time followed the East Asian art school during 5 years of study.
In 1928, he and the painters Vu Cao Dam, Mai Trung Thu holds the first painting exhibition in Hanoi.
In 1931, painter Le Pho went to France to decorate a number of exhibitions in Paris. After 1 year, he was granted a scholarship to study at the Paris School of Fine Arts. Since then, he has been acquainted with many art schools, including Impressionism, a school that must have had a great influence on Le Pho's compositions.
In 1933, after returning home, musician Le Pho returned to teach at Indochina Fine Arts College in Hanoi.
At the end of 1935, painter Le Pho was invited to Hue to paint portraits of King Bao Dai and the queen Nam Phuong. In addition, he was also invited to paint large-scale paintings to decorate the Hue royal court.
In 1937, Le Pho returned to Paris - France, to be in charge of the Indochina pavilion at the international exhibition. Here, he was really fascinated by the magnificent beauty and diverse art schools, so he applied to settle here.
In 1938, painter Le Pho held his first personal gallery exhibition. The Exhibition has attracted many famous artists as well as art lovers from Western countries.
In 1941, he and his close friend, painter Mai Trung Thu, organized a war exhibition in Alger. The Exhibition was very successful and also sold a lot of works.
In 1963, he cooperated with the American gallery Wally Finday to organize a number of art exhibitions..

Painter Le Pho is married to Mrs. Paulette Vaux, a French woman. She was a reporter for Life & Time in Paris in 1947.
