In 1971, she graduated as an actress from the Vietnam Theater School (now Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema) with the role of Kieu.
She is married to photographer Nguyen Huu Bao. They gave birth to 2 daughters. The first daughter studied journalism, defended her master's degree in China, is working at the Arts Department of Vietnam Television, not doing art but also related to art.
