Poet Hoai Vu's real name is Nguyen Dinh Vong, a native of Mo Duc, Quang Ngai. He is a member of the Vietnam Writers' Association.
After the country's reunification, he used to hold the position of: member of the Editorial Board of the Weekly Van Nghe (Vietnam Writers' Association), then Deputy Director of the New Works Publishing House (Vietnam Writers Association), followed by a member of the Executive Committee of the Writers' Association Ho Chi Minh City Ho Chi Minh City, then Chairman of the Council of Literature and Translation (Ho Chi Minh City Writers' Association), Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Saigon Liberation Newspaper.
Although born and raised in the Central region, the Hoai Vu's revolutionary and literary career was completely associated with the South. He is one of the few writers and artists present throughout the war against the US, going through the most difficult and fierce times. It was thanks to the painful and heroic reality of the battlefield that helped Hoai Vu grow up and write honest and profound works.
