Vice President of the United States under Richard Nixon from 1969 to 1973 who was forced to resign in 1973 after being accused of accepting bribes. He is only the second Vice President in US history to resign and the only one to do so because of criminal charges.
He was the 55th Governor of Maryland from 1967 to 1969.
