From a young age, Loan Chau has shown her musical ability, she is one of the As a member of the choir, when she was a student at Doan Thi Diem School and Marie Curie High School, she started singing in front of an audience when she was 6 years old. Then when she was 8 years old, she started to write songs for children and perform for her friends, so she was noticed by the teachers at school
After her father crossed the border with her. with her 4 older siblings in 1979, until 1991, she and her mother and three sisters also moved to Westminster, California, USA under the sponsorship of her father.
After 4 years in the United States, Loan Chau won the top title in a karaoke competition at the Ritz nightclub in Orange County. Then in 1996, she was discovered by director Truc Ho and she was signed an exclusive contract with Asia Entertainment and became one of the young stars at that time when she was about to out of university. In April 1997, Loan Chau had her first singing performance at Galaxie disco, Virginia with singer Gia Huy, her performance was warmly praised by the audience
From 1999 until today , she continuously collaborates with Thuy Nga Paris Center in addition to performing, recording music and videos; she also spends time making her own solo CDs and DVDs. In 2000, she also founded her own music label "Loan Chau Music" and created her own website "loanchaumusic.com".

Ninh Cat Loan Chau is the youngest child in a family of 8 children, 2 boys and 6 girls; She is also the only one in her family active in the arts. Her father was a naval officer of the Republic of Vietnam who was sent to "re-education" but was organized by her mother to escape from prison after years of imprisonment.
