When she was young, she was taught to sing to the right rhythm by a barber who knew classical music. Because of her talent, she was adopted by musician Tam Den in Cau Dua district 4. This musician taught Hong Nga to sing all three songs Nam, Sau Bac, Vong Co and other great songs. He instructed Hong Nga to go to classical music at Le Lieu restaurant in the entertainment area of Thi Nghe market.
Hong Nga's first Cai Luong singer to sing was the Hang Xuan - An Phuoc troupe of Mrs. Bau Sau Dang. Around this time, she took the stage name Kim Nga.
