The story-telling Van (real name Nguyen Thi Van) is a resilient girl with a strong will to live. Van was born with spinal muscular atrophy, weighed only about 18kg and had to use a wheelchair since childhood. All of Van's daily activities require support from others. Only Van can control her small hands and brain. Although small, Van possesses extraordinary intelligence and energy. Currently, Van is the founder of the Vocational Training Center for people with disabilities called "Living Will" and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Imagtor Company (a company specializing in graphics). Van's company has created jobs for hundreds of disabled people. Van's journey to change her fate has inspired and lit the dreams of many disadvantaged people. In 2019, Van was honored to be voted by BBC as one of the 100 most influential women in the world.

In 2008, Van's brother - knight Nguyen Cong Hung and a A group of friends established the Will to Live Center with the goal of providing career guidance and free training for people with disabilities. Van participates as a peer consultant and helps the center train more than 600 students.
Van always exudes confidence, spreading positive energy to those around her. . Van believes that feeling guilty forever cannot save anything. So, just be happy and do what you like. Van shares many of her stories on social networking sites with the desire to spread optimism to those who are less fortunate in life. Currently, Fanpage Van Capture Story has more than 130,000 followers.
Van was born into a farmer family in Nghe An. The Van family has 3 brothers, 2 of whom have a strange disease. Van and his eldest brother Nguyen Cong Hung were disabled from birth.
Van is married to Mr. Neil Bowden Laurence, an Australian Information Technology engineer. The two met each other through social networks. At first, Mr. Neil was impressed with the image of a Vietnamese girl with a smile. Smile brightly and radiantly. He started interacting and leaving comments under Van's posts. Neil was fascinated by Van's intelligence, humor and energy. The two started talking and understood each other more and more. The love story between Van and Neil is a testament to the power of love. From conversations on social networks, their love developed into a beautiful fairy-tale love story, connecting two people from two different countries.
Mr. Neil decided to take a break. working in Australia to come to Vietnam to live and work with Van. Every day, the two of them participate in volunteer activities together at the Will to Live Center founded by Van. Mr. Neil also spends his time teaching English for free to students with disabilities.
