Since 1976, after the country was reunified, Mr. Dang Thanh Tam and his family moved to Ho Chi Minh City to live. Then, in 1982, he returned to his hometown Hai Phong to attend Vietnam Maritime University. After graduating with a degree in marine engineering, he worked as a marine officer at Saigon shipping company from 1988 to 1996. During that time, he continued to study those two disciplines. He majored in Law and Business Administration, then he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Law and also a Business Management degree from Henley Management University in the UK.
Since 1996. Until February 2007, he was the General Director of Tan Tao Industrial Park Joint Stock Company (ITACO). Also during this time, he held the position of Delegate to the People's Council of Binh Chanh district of the city Ho Chi Minh with the 1999-2004 tenure and since 2003, he is also the General Director of VINATEX-Tan Tao Joint Stock Company (Investor of Vinatex-Tan Tao Industrial Park, Nhon Trach, Dong Nai) cum General Secretary of the Association of Industrial Park Enterprises of Ho Chi Minh City. Since 2003, he has been the investor of Phu Huu Industrial Park, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City in charge of General Director of Saigon Construction Investment and Construction Materials Joint Stock Company.
Since 2004 , he was a delegate to the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City for the term 2004-2009
In 2005, he was the Investor of Quang Chau Industrial Park, Bac Giang province, holding the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors - General Director Director of Saigon Industrial Park Joint Stock Company-Bac Giang and the Investor of Hoa Khanh Expanded Industrial Park, City.
